Teaching the multiplication tables

Hey guys, today I wanted to bring you some guidelines to when we should teach the multiplication tables and how.

  • Wait for the exact moment

First of all, we must wait for the proper moment for the kid to learn them. This may seem obvious but many parents make the mistake of trying to involve their children into multiplications without them being ready for it.

  • Explain them what is the multiplication about

Secondly, we should explain the children what is the multiplication about because most of the children like to understand the explanation of things as they get motivated by this. Because of this, it’s essential that we don’t give them the multiplication tables. However, we must explain them that a multiplication is a repetitive addition. Only when the child has understood the utility of the multiplication, he can find sense to learn the multiplication tables.

  • Teach them the basic multiplications

After, we should try to focus on encouraging children to understand the process of multiplication and improve their multiplicative skills.

  • Motivate them to practice

Multiplication is not just logic, it demands a lot of practice, that way the child will reinforce the acquired knowledge and entrust his capacity. Any place is good to practice, moreover, outside home is one of the best places, like the supermarkets.

  • Go on to the multiplication tables

Finally, it’s the time for children to learn the multiplication tables. We must start by letting them manipulate and visualice them in order to understand them. Then it would be time for them to learn, which will need some good memory.

I hope you have enjoyed my point of view on how to teach the multiplication tables and I hope you put this into practice.

See you soon!
